  • 1. Is an invitation required for my Russian visa?

    Yes, invitations are required for all types of Russian visas. The invitation must be issued by a travel agency registered with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. VisaHQ.com can assist in issuing invitations for tourist and business visas.  
  • 2. Does the invitation have to be the original or a copy?

    Invitations must be original for student, work, and private visas. However, for tourist and business visas, a clear copy is sufficient. VisaHQ can issue invitations for tourist and business visas.  
  • 3. Can I stay longer than the dates specified in the invitation?

    No, you cannot. Visas are issued only for the dates requested in the invitation. Overstaying may result in a fine or jail time. You cannot extend your visa while in Russia. Please contact the embassy if you anticipate overstaying your visa.  
  • 4. What is required for a minor when applying for a visa to Russia?

    If a minor is traveling alone or with one parent, a letter of consent from the absent parent is required. If the last name of the minor and the traveling parent is not the same, the birth certificate of the minor is required. If the minor??  
  • 5. How far in advance can I apply for a visa to Russia?

    Tourist visa applications are accepted only within 90 days of the proposed entry date to Russia. Russian business visa applications are accepted only within 45 days of the proposed entry date to Russia.
